Dena Saslaw Schwartz - Irresistible Inking Techniques

Image
This is my card for the Irresistible Inking Technique class.  I used the Beauty Within flower and leaves stamps, embossed them with gold embossing powder so I could paint them without the ink going all over the card.  I used two shades of purple ink and orange ink for the center.  Once the image dried, I put the card together, one layer is the image, second layer is a lime green paper, layer three is the direct ink to paper purple edge and the last layer before attaching the stack to the card base is a brayered green watercolor paper.  I die cut the thanks twice for stability, stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, added the bling and the bow.  I really like the result!

Dena Saslaw Schwartz - Easy Die Cutting Technique

Image
I die cut leaves from the Create a Flower - Buttercup set.  I used the three leaves and backed the cut coversheet with Tim Holtz Metallic paper.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it with a frame die.  I rounded the two right corners and attached it to a white top folded card.  Here is the second view.

Dena Saslaw Schwartz - Seasonal Scene Building

This card is a shaker card.  The stamped images are from the Seasonal Tweetings set and leaves and flowers from Wild & Free.  I used different bits for the shaker which don't show in this image, but show on the one below.

This card is my Let it Shine piece.  I die cut the Thank you sentiment with gold cardstock and I created a circle frame for the opening.  I die cut the flowers and made gold dotes for the acetate. Here is another view of this card.

Dena Saslaw Schwartz - Celebration: Stencil Techniques

Image
This is the first of two cards using the Celebration:  Stencil Techniques.  this cover die was very delicate, but it really worked for this card.  I painted the flowers with iridescent paint.  In real life they are just stunning.  This is the other "side" of the technique where you can see the blending of the colors and the cover plate is the lines.  I love both of these cards.

Dena Saslaw Schwartz - Easy Ink Blending

Image
I used Altenew's Beauty Within stamp set for this Easy Ink Blending class.  These open flowers were so easy to work with and the leaves are so pretty.  I blended Distress Inks for the background to give the card an evening look.  I embossed the flowers and leaves with Versamark ink and Brutus Monroe Alabaster Powder. This is another view where you can see the dimension added to the flowers.

Dena Saslaw Schwartz - For the Guys Redo

This is the redo for this card.  I added a sentiment strip and bling.  I used the Patterns stamp set with four colors of ink:  Sprout, Oceanside, Buttercup and Honeysuckle.  The circle was stamped with a halftone stamp and the Thanks was from the Halftone Circle set, embossed with Distress Cracked Pistachio powder and cut four times, three blanks and the top embossed layer.    This view shows that the stamp is versatile.

I love this Altenew class, Clean and Simple Boutique Cards!  I used the Calming Reverie set.  I stamped the leaves and the flower image but did not use the layering dies.  I used a Mono .01 black pen to add highlights to the stamped images.  I die cut the sentiment four times, three with white card stock and once with black card stock.  I attached the card front to yellow card stock.

Dena Saslaw Schwartz - All About Layering 2

Image
The stamp set used to create this card is Altenew's Flourishing Zinnia.  The inks used were Altenew Cotton Candy, Ruby Red, Coral Berry, Parrot and Olive; Hero Arts inks were used for the purple flower.  The sentiment was chosen from the stamp set as were the leaves which were stamped and three were fussy cut and attached to the card.

The stamp set used for this assignment is the Extra Special set.  I stamped the main image twice, covering most of the card front.  I used Altenew inks:  Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Warm Sunshine, Parrot, and Olive.  I stamped the sentiment and attached it to a black piece of cardstock. Here is another view of this All About Layering card.  I love how the flowers have impact whether stamper upside or flipped.
